Editor's review

The Spanish songman has found unlikely mainstream success with a blend of lilting grooves and frank lyrics. On this remix EP, both sides of that brew are explored. The seven takes of "Politik Kills" test out spikier versions of the beats and put new voices to the socially conscious message.

Biography

Special Manu Chao Remix EP of Latest Single "Politik Kills" Features Remixes by UK Icons Linton Kwesi Johnson & Dennis Bovell as well as Island Records Founder Chris Blackwell.

New EP Follows Manu Chao's Recent #1 Debut On the Billboard Latin & World Music Charts for Latest Studio Album La Radiolina.

Upcoming Manu Chao U.S. Dates Include Co-Headlining Outside Lands Festival (San Francisco) and Austin City Limits.

Following a Grammy win and #1 debut on the Billboard Latin & World music charts for his latest album La Radiolina, Manu Chao is set to release the "Politik Kills" remix EP featuring seven special remixes of his latest single — just in time for U.S. elections. The album will feature a reggae remix collection of the La Radiolina track "Politik Kills" by artists like UK icons Linton Kwesi Johnson and Dennis Bovell as well as Island Records founder Chris Blackwell and several others. Manu Chao will be performing several high-profile U.S. tour dates in late August, including the Outside Lands Festival (San Francisco) and Austin City Limits.

The late 2007 studio album La Radiolina was recently nominated for a Billboard Latin Music award in the "Best Latin Rock/Alternative Album" category. This exciting news followed a highly-successful year which featured the global star winning his first career Latin Grammy, selling out large venues across the world and year-end critical acclaim across most major media outlets including Time Magazine, Spin Magazine, The New Yorker, and the Los Angeles Times.
